We now have a full time (36.25 hours) opportunity for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our world-leading institution at James Cook University as a fixed term appointment to 31st December 2019 with the potential to extend. What you will achieve

Working within a sector leading business intelligence team, you will gather new business requirements, develop new reporting, refine existing deliverables and assist in the ongoing engagement of University staff. Outside of our core business, you will have the opportunity to innovate within your analytics/visualisation interests.

What you can bring

You can bring a track record of previous experience working with IBM's Cognos Business Intelligence suite and/or an IT professional with experience in data visualisation and reporting (HTML5,CSS3,JavaScript and/or D3), as well as relational databases, dimensional modelling and complex SQL querying, you will be able to communicate business insights to support and enlighten decision makers.

 

You will have:

·         Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders,

·         Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to apply sound judgement, manage competing deadlines and work autonomously,

·         Documented experience in working within agile projects capturing business requirements, developing report content, dealing with iterations, agreeing and delivering final solutions.

·         A high level of analytical and problem-solving capability and capacity for innovation in dealing with sometimes complex business requirements, analysis and/or processes.
