About the Role

We have a permanent full time opportunity for a motivated and professional Payroll/HRIS Specialist to join our HR team in this diverse challenging leadership role. Reporting to the Manager People & Culture, this role has 3 challenging portfolios. You will be responsible for:

  • The coordination and leadership of Council’s Payroll Team;
  • The payroll management for a workforce of 1000+, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Responsible for the overall management of Aurion as our System Administrator.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have extensive knowledge and experience in the use and administration of Aurion, including reporting, teamed with the capacity to understand relevant HR legislation, Awards & Enterprise Agreements. You will also have solid working knowledge and understanding of relevant tax legislation, superannuation, remuneration and payroll reconciliation processes.

You will be excited by the challenge of developing technology to provide an exceptional service, and will play a key role in the review of specifications, acceptance testing and implementation of a HRIS.  You will have a proven ability to implement change and make on-going improvements to the current system.

You will possess advanced skills in Aurion HRIS as well as other applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook.  This role requires you to have well developed organisational skills with a track record in maintaining confidentiality which will assist you in leading the team during this exciting time. Local government experience not essential but would be advantageous
